October 29th

So, we went to the baby doctor again for a check up. My blood pressure was high when we finally got back to see the doctor (but I was on the phone with the closing agent on our house at the time). They made me get off the phone, kick back in a recliner and turned off the lights. I had to switch chairs with TJ so he sat on the examining table. Anyways, I kicked back in the chair for about 10 minutes. The doc walks in, and sees TJ on the table and me in the chair, and TJ says "I think I'm pregnant!" HAHAHAHA Oh my gosh the look on her face was priceless! After we all regained composure they checked my BP again, and it had gone down. I explained to her that we have been trying to get our house sold for 7 months and she said, "Well, we won't worry about it a lot right now, but we will do an extensive check when you come back in 4 weeks."

We talked about how Paxton is moving a lot, and she told me that there are many women as far along as we are and they are JUST now starting to feel their little ones move. So, I was excited about that. I do have to go back on November 24th and do the glucose screening. I told her that I feel like I have been having some trouble with my blood sugar, so they are going to do some extra testing on it, just to make sure all is ok. And, I will have a couple more tests run and then will have to have another Rhogam shot, since I have A- blood. So, that is going to be a busy day. THEN, I go back on December 2nd and have the 3D exam done. OH MY GOODNESS! We are going to get to see what he looks like (sort of). I'm so excited. TJ won't get to go to this appointment, but we are going to record the experience, so we can watch it when he gets home from work! I'm so excited.

We got all the test results back from my blood work a couple weeks ago. They did the screening for Down Syndrome (and one other thing that I can't remember) and they both came back negative. She reviewed the ultrasound pics that the Rad Tech did a couple weeks ago and she says he looks quite healthy! So, I'm really happy that things are going well.

The other thing she found out about my blood tests was that my Rubella booster has worn off. She said it isn't safe to take a booster while I'm pregnant, but she doesn't want me to contract it in case we decide to have anymore children. So, while I'm still in the hospital they are going to give me a Rubella booster.

Oh! And, we got to listen to Paxton's heart beat. So, I get on the table and she gets the machine and puts it on my tummy, and I mean the MINUTE she put in on there and found his heart rate, it was like he THREW his arm up as hard as he could saying, "Don't touch me, I'm comfy!!!!" It was the strangest feeling I have felt this far! HILARIOUS though. He already has the tendencies of his dad! The appointment went very well!

So, then we went to Sherman......and..... CLOSED ON THE SALE OF OUR HOUSE!!!! Oh my goodness what a relief! This has been such a headache for TJ and me and I know it has contributed a lot to me being sick and not feeling well. Not to mention, it probably hasn't been a great thing for Paxton. BUT, its done! Its Over! THANK GOODNESS. Now I can focus on our lives in Ada, my work, and our soon to be little guy!

Well, appointment went well, and we sold the house! I would say it was quite a GREAT day!

Paxton's Shower!

So the holidays are coming up, and I was a little anxious about having a shower this early, but turns out that most of my family will get to be there because we are having it early! It's November 8th! I can't believe how close that is! And, at least I will still be able to get around and put things away, because I love him, but I'm sure TJ won't be much help! :) HAHAHA

Anyways, we went a week or so ago and registered at Burlington Coat Factory (BabyDepot.com) and TJ had MORE fun. He was all over the place just cracking me up! He said "Oh, Paxton will LOVE this!" So, will Paxton love it, or will YOU love it, TJ. :) We had lots of fun!

So, the two ladies hosting the shower are GREAT! Both of them were bridesmaids in our wedding. How exciting. I used to work with them when I first started working at the bank, and BOY did they NOT like me. I know what you are saying, "Who can NOT like, you" HAHA but they didn't. Then well, of course, when they got to know me, they loved me. Anyways, that would be Tammy and Vicky! I love you guys! This is going to be so fun! I know it has been somewhat of a headache for them (since so many people were invited (I have a HUGE family)), but I couldn't think of anyone else to do. So, THANKS guys! LOVE YOU!

Well, we have our next baby doctor appointment on Wednesday... We will let you know how it goes when we return!

Paxton's Grandparents

October 25, 2008

So, we decided to go see my folks after I got off work today. You know, we decided on Paxton's name and of course told my family at the beginning of the week. So, we go see my parents and while we are sitting there eating my dad says, "TJ. Jessi. You have to go to the shop with me when we are finished. I have to show you something." We get done eating and get up from the table and before we even push in the chairs Dad says, "Get your shoes on Jess, and go with me to the shop."
My goodness I knew he had to be excited about something, but just wasn't sure what it was. I know is he working on a car down there, but didn't know what all was going on.

Ok, so we get to the shop and he walks really fast and says "Come here". He turns over this big metal thing that he has been working on and says, "Well, would you look at that." He is working on a '63 Ford Fairlane 500 and you will not believe what he is putting on it..... A PAXTON Supercharger! And, that is what he is adding to it. It was the neatest thing. It had Paxton all over it! You could just see my dad's eyes light up since we are naming our boy that, and TJ's eyes lit up for many other reasons. I tell you, I got pretty teary eyed to see how excited my dad is about his new grandson! I love my family so much!

It was a great afternoon. Mom and Dad were both telling me what a joy having a child will be and what all they are going to do with the little guy. And then dad says, "Well, I had just given up on you having kids" WOW! Didn't expect to hear that. All I've heard for many years was, "Oh you don't need kids, you have a great job." Well, turns out he is REALLY excited about a new grandbaby!

And, the guys took some pics of their cars.... Here is what they came up with:

TJ had to get a good one of Dad's '39 Pontiac at the Pond

Old School vs. New School

1939 Pontiac Coupe vs. 2008 Pontiac G8 GT

All in all... GREAT DAY!

Blog Thing - KINDA NEAT!

So, my cousin Marisa has been using this blog thing for a while and I have been reading about her family and thought it was a pretty neat idea. Especially since there are people in my family that don't have Myspace, but I still want them to read what we post about this baby stuff!

So, thank you Marisa, for bringing me to the 'light' side! :) Love you!

Baby Story - The Name

October 21, 2009

Well, its decided -- Our baby's name is Paxton Mack Johnson!

I am so excited. I know all of you are wondering how we have come to this name, so I'm going to tell you!
The first name that TJ came up with was Bob from Ada Johnson. HAHAHA. He said that way if the boy had a hard time reading or writing or understanding, he would always know how to spell his name and where he is from! HAHAHa. Yeah TJ, pretty funny, but NO WAY! :)

Ok, so those of you that know TJ, know that he is much like my dad and likes cars! So, one day I was trying to think of names related to cars.... Chevy, Diesel, etc... and TJ just laughed at me. So, I know he was thinking about it after that, and one day came home and said... Paxton. I said where in the world did you come up with Paxton. Don't get me wrong I like it a lot, but where did you get it. He said, "Well, Paxton is a brand of SuperCharger made for cars" I just laughed and said GREAT! I was thrilled that he had input in the name. And Paxton is a neat name that is different from many other names. And you all know that I like DIFFERENT! :)

So, for his middle name. I have known for a long time that I wanted to use Mack in our little boy's name. And, we get to. A man I used to work for is named Mack. I attribute everything I know about my profession to him. He is great friends with my family, and his dad and my dad were great friends! And TJ really looks up to Mack as well. Mack does not have any children of his own, but has a heart the size of Tex....,well...., ok OU. :) And, how great to show him thanks for all he has done for my family and me, than to name our little boy after him.

So, there you have it. The name decision has been finalized. I know many people are going to say... "You have 17 weeks left, I'm sure you will change it by then" But I'm confident that our little Paxton Mack has a name that means a lot to me and my family! I'm excited that we have chosen this name. Now I just can't wait to meet him.

Well, there you have it. More info on the little one. We will share more as it happens. Thanks for reading!

Baby Story (Continued)

Many things have happened since the last posting... Where did I end last time....

August 12th

Baby Dr. Appt. We met with one of the other docs in the office. She was WAY no fun. We got the crappy machine and everything. We couldn't see a thing, but she said the baby was healthy, so that is what I went with. :)

Weekend of September 6-7

All of a sudden I started sneezing and coughing. STRANGE. It was terrible. I was going to try to hold on... I had an appointment the Tuesday coming up.

September 9

Next Dr. Appt. At 17 weeks. I could hardly talk, I wasn't sleeping, and couldn't rest one bit! It was awful. I was hoping we would get to find out the sex of the baby this time, but the doc says she doesn't do that, she didn't want to give us the wrong baby when we delivered. :) We checked the baby and everything was fine. We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. That was AWESOME! Then she checked me and was worried I was developing pneumonia. It was terrible. She was worried it would effect the baby, so I had to take some pretty stout meds and take the week off. I wish it was vacation though. IT WASN'T. I finally got over it, and good thing, the baby is ok too.

September 10

Started a new vitamin to take with the others that I had already been taking. DIDN'T throw up. That was the first day in 13 weeks that I wasn't 'Irping'. It was GREAT!

September 19

I went to the Football game and helped an organization sell tickets. Strangest thing happened.... I stood there for about an hour and all of a sudden I felt really strange. Lost all feeling in my legs, then my arms and chest, and then lost my hearing. I told Lora (one of my coworkers) that I was about to pass out and by the time I got that out of my mouth I couldn't hear. Made it to the car, but sure don't remember driving home. It was strange. It has something to do with my blood sugar. So, I have to eat every hour, almost on the hour, unless I'm sleeping. And if I'm sleeping, when I wake up I better go get something FAST.

September 23

I think I felt the baby move for the first time!

September 24

ANATOMY ULTRASOUND! Ok so TJ and I are off for this appointment and neither of us slept a WINK! So, we are getting ready, and we head to the doctor's office. I sign in at 10:25 as the appointment was at 10:30, or so I thought. We sit in the waiting room and the lady at the front desk calls me up there, and says "I'm sorry ma'am but your appt was at 10. You are going to have to reschedule." I was so upset I couldn't even speak. I had been SO anxious about find out what we were having because TJ admitted he would at least start talking baby stuff since he hadn't thus far. Well, so I argued with the lady for a while then cried and left. TJ got mad at me for forgetting the time, so we came home and he went to work. I was so upset, I just slept the rest of the day, which was ok, because I felt terrible that morning anyways. SO NO ANATOMY!

October 1

OK the real ANATOMY SCAN! We arrived at the Dr. Office at 2 and the appt was at 3. Yep we did that on purpose! We weren't missing it again! It was the most amazing thing. I can't believe how much the baby had changed in just 3 weeks! CRAZY. So, she checks all the vitals. Brain, chest, heart, legs, head, arms, feet, etc. Everything was normal and the baby measures exactly where it should be. Then she starts trying to find....well... the private parts. And, that took at DANG HOUR! The little baby had its legs crossed at the ankle and knees bent like he was saying "HAHA shouldn't missed the appt last week". The ultrasound lady was all but punching my stomach trying to get the baby to move around. And she whispers at the screen.... "Come on little baby, I already know your secret, but have to prove it to everyone else". So, she had already seen the privates, but wanted to be sure. Well, luckily she had to take a call, and she said you POKE YOUR STOMACH! She came back about 10 minutes later and the baby moved just a little bit! Finally, she got a picture, and she says she is 70 percent sure... ITS A BOY! And I'm am perfect with that. Because if you saw the picture, you would be sure too! So, its a boy, and I'm so excited we finally know!

And that's more info for now! NEXT: Baby Shower in Madill on November 8th. I want to be able to put things away and NOT be miserable... :)

Baby Story

Baby Story (thus far)

July 2, 2008

I decided to take off work for a couple days, and had been feeling a bit sickly like I was back in April. I felt as if was getting bronchitis again. So, I went to the doctor since I was going to be off work anyways. Well, I get there and tell Dr. Judy that I thought I was getting sick again. She checked my lungs and everything and said she thought the same also. She then asked if I had any other symptoms. I told her I was very tired and couldn't seem to get enough rest. I also said that my breasts had been VERY sore. She kind of smiled at me. I told her I thought they were sore because I had been drinking so much caffeine, that was the problem in the past. She said that it sounded like Fibrocystic something but that we needed to go ahead and take a pregnancy test. She asked if I thought I was pregnant and I told her definitely not. So, I had no issues with taking the test. I walked to the ladies room, did what I needed to do and walked back to the room. She said she would be back. In less than 2 or 3 minutes I heard her say, "OK!" and she walked in my room with a big smile on her face! She said " honey, you're pregnant". All I could do was start crying! We sat there for a moment, and well, I cried some more. She said she wanted me to get to a baby doctor right away to make sure the baby was fine. They couldn't get me in until July 15th. So I was on my way home. I got a phone call to go ahead and go to the baby doc. They wanted to go ahead and get me in (I told Dr. Judy I had been spotting). So, they got me in, Tamara (midwife) did what she needed to do and found out that our little baby was 7weeks and 1 day old. WOW! It was amazing. I could already see the little babies heart beat. I felt much better about the whole situation and started on my way home. I went to the store quickly and got a card for TJ an album to hold on the pics, and I got him a car magazine and put it all in a gift bag. (I didn't want him to be too upset so I took him a mag that he likes).

So, on my way home to tell TJ he's going to be a daddy. I'm not paying attention to what's going on really, and I get stopped for speeding. I am already crying because I'm in shock. And the officer asks me if I was in a hurry. "Yes sir, I am." "Well, what's the deal?" (sobbing) "I just found out I am pregnant and I'm going home to tell my husband." "If you will just slow down, congratulations and have a good evening!" "THAAAAANNNNKKK YOOOUUUU!" (sobbing even more) "Ma'am, now now, its ok, this is a no cry zone". I just cried and cried and left to go home.

Well, I walk in with the gift bag behind my back, and TJ asks what's going on and why I'm crying. "No reason" I say. I hand him the bag. He pulls out the card that says "Oh Baby" on the front. He reads it and asks if I'm pregnant. I say "I don't know, look at the album". He pulls out the album, opens it, and says......... "HOW??" "Well, DAMN, TJ, do we need to go over the birds and bees????" He doesn't say much for the rest of the night.

July 3, 2008

I went back to the doctor to give blood. TJ had to go to work, but started coming around a bit. We went to the store that afternoon and got 2 baby bibs and some gift sacks. We called my parents to see what they were doing for the evening. So, we drove down there and TJ tip toed into the house. He walked over and handed them the bag. Mom and Dad opened it, and mom said "Are you trying to tell us something." We both grinned really big and they just jumped up and gave us big hugs. We had a great dinner that night!

July 4, 2008

TJ's family came to Ada to visit us. So, we gave them a sack with a bib in it also. Cathy opened it up and said, "Is this for Tommy". HILLARIOUS. And we both shook our head, and I think they were as shocked as we were when we found out. But, after talking a bit, they were EXCITED!

July 5, 2008

I had to go to work, and well, had my first bout of morning sickness. IT WAS TERRIBLE. TJ had to come get me from work because I couldn't even stand up. So, he came to get me and I was pretty much sick all weekend.

Weekend of July 12-13

I was spotting quite a bit for a few days. I wasn't really worried about it, but talked to someone and they had me FREAKING OUT! So, I called the doc that Monday and told them I needed to come in. So, they got me in on the 14th and checked the baby. The baby was JUST fine and they still wanted me to keep my 'first' prenatal appt for the July 15th.

July 15, 2008

This was the BIG day that TJ got to see the little one. We went through all the questions of family history and everything. Tamara said that by the 16th week she would need to know if we wanted to be tested for Cystic Fibrosis so we could terminate the pregnancy if we wished. Termination has never been a part of any of my thinking, but TJ was thinking otherwise. He said we would talk about it. So, then we went in to see the baby. (TJ hadn't seen it yet). We get ready and then the monitor comes on. TJ is standing beside me and sees our little blessing on the monitor. Tamara (midwife) turns around and TJ is shedding a few tears of Joy. She turns everything off so I can get off the table, and pats him on the back, and says "You are going to be a good daddy." At that time, TJ realized there was no way we could terminate this precious little being.

Next APPT August 12th. We are so excited. We will be 13 weeks on the dot when we go back in and I will be starting the 2nd trimester.

I tell you, I have been SO sick. I have to, as TJ says, irp, EVERYDAY, sometimes more than once a day. It really is wearing me out, but it will all be worth it in the end. I keep wanting to talk about names, but TJ says he's not talking about any names until we find out what we are having. He says he doesn't want to Jinx it. Whatever that means. So, I don't think we will find out what we are having at this next appt, but definitely will in September!
So that is our baby story thus far. TJ has been great and I am just so excited I can't contain myself. We know it is going to be a lot of work, but we love eachother and we are going to love our little bundle of joy even more!

Thanks for reading our baby story (thus far)!
